Today we went to a birthday party for our good friends son who was turning three.  What do you eat at kids birthday parties?  Pizza and cake.  So I came prepared with steamed sweet potato’s, smoothie, and coconut cookies!  When Colton woke up, he was asleep on my back for the first half, he wasn’t that hungry and just wanted to play in the sand.  If I didn’t have the food with me he probably would have been hungry!  We sat in the sand peacefully and shoveled over and over again.

These situations are going to come up and I am prepared with a response of “that’s not your/our food” and he won’t see me eating it either, so it’s not like I’m not practicing what I preach.  In these cases I make sure to have some of his favorites like coconut cookies or popcorn to distract him from the other junk/fake food.

Tomorrow we are on the road all day so I made sure to prep tonight.  In the photo you see the following:

Green Juice:
Kale
Collars
Dill ginger
Celery
Beet
Apple
Grapefruit
Cabbage
Lemon

Smoothie:

I was tired enough to go to bed or just watch TV, but that’s not what is going to help start my week off energized and enthusiastic!

For dinner I’m thinking lentils, rice, and salad.
