We all know it’s not always easy to travel and eat well.  Here are a few tips that will help you feel strong while away from home.

Plan ahead:
Download the Happy Cow app and have access to an extensive list of healthy restaurants and stores.  Lots have reviews that are helpful too!  This is how we find juice bars so we can get fresh green juice and smoothies.

Stay hydrated:
It’s easy to get dehydrated while traveling so if you are not going to the bathroom at least every hour then drink more water.  Clear urine tells you that you are doing a good job.  I always bring an empty metal water bottle with me so I can fill it up at a water fountain or a soda fountain (with water of course).

Netti Pot:
These help to get out all the allergens and keep your nasal passages moist in air conditioned hotel rooms.

Stay active:
Do some push-ups, sit-ups, burpees, and squats in your hotel room.  Even better, go find a park and do some interval training.  I never really workout in hotel gyms because I am so active exploring and adventuring.  I make sure to stretch well too!

Sweat:
If my hotel has a sauna or steam room I take full advantage!  I’m less likely to go into a pool or hot tub because of all the chemicals, but will steam or sauna at least once a day.  Don’t forget to dry brush first and drink extra water after.  If you can handle it take a cold shower after to really get your lymphatic system going.

Detox:
When you get home go clean and detox out the extra toxins you took in.  Hydrate, eat clean, sweat, and do an enema to make sure you restore your alkalinity.

Have fun:
Don’t stress because it’s too toxic.  Enjoy your time away and that means exploring all your location has to offer, food included.  Perfection is not our goal so don’t feel bad if you indulge…instead make sure you really enjoy it!
